INTRODUCTIONS
The Ministry of Youth and Sports, Malaysia, with the
cooperation of the International Youth Centre (IYC), Malaysia Youth
Council (MBM) and Committee for ASEAN Youth Cooperation (CAYC)
will be organising the Malaysian International Youth Exchange (MIYE)
with the theme “Towards Strengthening Youth Participations in Preserving
Culture and Heritage” on 21st to 26th May,
2014 in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya. It is in conjunction with the 46th
National Youth Day, in Putrajaya Youth Festival 2014.
The Malaysia International Youth Exchange (MIYE) programme aims to bring together cultures and traditions among youth from the ASEAN and other invited countries to share and also build smart partnership among youths in the region. It’s a unique opportunity for youths of ASEAN and other invited countries to exhibit their diversity values of cultures, traditions and to preserve them from extinction.
ASEAN and other invited countries share a lot of similarities in natural conditions, geography, and cultures as well as traditions. This exchange programme helps to enhance and strengthen the mutual understanding of cultural diversity and similarity, friendship and co-operation among ASEAN and other countries.
