ALSA LC UI holds the National English Competition (ALSA E-Comp) annually as means to fulfilling its vision of encouraging the application of English in daily communication. ALSA E-Comp is a perfect medium in facilitating the endeavouring needs through set of competitions for high school and university students in the English linguistic field. Since the first ALSA E-Comp in 1995, numerous high school and university students from all over Indonesia had continually participated in this event, thus nationally ALSA E-Comp had successfully proves its prominent existence for 16 years. To continue the success, we proudly present: THE 17th ALSA National English Competition 2013 (ALSA E-Comp 2013) "Get Rid of All Fears, Strive for Your Dreams".
ALSA E-Comp 2013 has 4 smaller-scale competitions and 8 main competitions, which are Debate, E-Comp Model United Nations (E-MUN), Battle of Brains, Story Telling, Speech, Spelling Bee, News Casting, and Paper Presentation. A breakthrough has been made this year, where the 4 smaller-scale competitions came into existence and are composed under a subsidiary event, namely the 1st ALSA E-Comp Junior. With elementary students as its participants, the 1st ALSA E-Comp Junior will be held a week before the main event and mainly composed of Battle of Brains Junior, Mini Story Telling, Poetry, and Open Spelling Bee. Consequently, being the competitors of ALSA E-Comp 2013 not only they will enhance potentials in the domain of English linguistic, but also be a generation of brave, persistent, open-minded and expressive individuals pledging for this nation in ensuring the sustainability of the development of this country.
