Green Manufacturing has been promoted as main theme of LKTI 2012. The theme was chosen considering Green Manufacturing as the answer of enviromental issue todays. As International Energy Agency has listed Indonesia as the 15th most CO2 emitters in the world in 2008, it is our duty as an engineer to contribute in working out the issue.
As an answer to the above issue, LKTI will bring out one of the green manufacturing concept, which is a modern manufacturing process orientating at lean system that is known to increase efficiency while cutting back negative effect to the environment. Green Manufacturing is a suitable solution for manufacturing company as it is a versatile method to be applied in wide range of business to keep up with modern necessities in a free-trade era.
Green manufacturing is corresponding to the Industrial Engineering principal which is creating higher efficiency and effectiveness. Thus, LKTI as a science competition is fit enough to facilitate Industrial Engineering top students in implementing Industrial Engineering concepts through national problem-solving contest, especially in developing and evaluating Green Manufacturing in Indonesia.

Pre Eliminary Stage – Essay Contest

Number of Participants : 1-2 teams from each universities
On the pre-eliminary stage, LKTI 2012 is about to invite universities from all over Indonesia whose Industrial Engineering major has been given the accreditation by the authorities.
Those universities which enroll should send a paper for each team (maximum up to 2 teams each university). The paper should be relevant to the study case we’ve presented, and the most 25 eligible papers (refers to judges’ assessment) will be invited to join the next stages at UI Campus, Depok.
